Introduction CREATIVELY NIGERIAN There is no other country in the whole wide world that we can call our own, but Nigeria. Fortunately and interestingly too, this “Giant of Africa” is endowed with rich human and natural resources. While efforts must be intensified to explore and indeed harness these huge resources, the unwholesome and uncomplimentary attitude of Nigerians towards anything Nigeria leaves a lot to be desired. It is therefore very disturbing, disheartening, dislocating and unpatriotic as well as un-nationalistic for majority of Nigerians to prefer foreign made goods and services as against home/indigenously produced ones. A critical look at the nation since independence, one would notice a downward trend in the economic fortunes and image of our nation. A nation that is so endowed with human and natural resources cannot even stand tall in the committee of nations. How can one justify the fact that the most populous black nation with abundant crude oil (one of the purest), cannot even boast of a functional refinery.  A country that provides electricity to neighboring countries cannot provide electricity for its own citizens. Elections in this country is without violence, massive rigging and all forms of unwholesome activities. The educational structures are all broken down. The rich prefer to send their kids abroad or better still have to pay very huge sums to send their kids to private institutions – what happens to the poor folks?  The students in public schools have no sound teachers, good laboratories, libraries, computer rooms etc. The politicians are all having a filled day looting the national treasury. For the sake of money, institutions and governments are busy giving awards to looters and betrayers of the nation.  It is still a mystery to note that a nation having so much deposited into its “belly” have so much people having nothing in their belly. There are countries like England, Indonesia, Japan to mention a few who do not seem to have so much buried in their land, yet with so much in their brain are able to provide so much for the belly of their citizens. The Nigerian youth, everyday gets frustrated. There seem to be no future to look forward to. Everyone now look abroad for solace. It seems unnatural to look within and venture.  The American youth look to their past and draw strength for the future, but which past will the Nigerian youth look to? The American nation can constantly reform their nation, but can the Nigerian nation be reformed?  To reform means to form again or go back to the original formation. To form means to make from something that already existed. What has already existed that the Nigerian youth can look forward to?  It is regrettable to note that some lines in the national anthem seem elusive to the incoming generation. “The labour of our hero’s past shall never be in vain.” The question is “who are these heros from the past?”. It is easy to mention names of notable politicians that used to grace the political terrain, but are they truly heros? Are they not the reason for our present predicaments.  There is a very strange phenomenon in Nigeria that needs to be checked. When a child turns out bad, they blame the child. But the holy book in its greatest wisdom said, “train a child in the way he should go and when he grows up, he would not depart from it.” This goes to show that the lot of the child has a lot to do with the quality of training he/she receives. So, toady is the product of the so called “hero past”. This country therefore does not need reformation as we have always thought, rather it needs recreation.  To re-create  means to create again or start again afresh. To create means to make from something that is not already in existence. It means, we need a new thinking to create a new nation. A new thinking for a new Nigeria. A new thinking for a new vision. A new thinking for a new passion. A new thinking for a new drive. A new thinking for greater possibilities.  This new thinking would create the heros of today that would become the hero’s past in the national anthem. Today is the womb of the future of the Nigerian Nation. What we do with out children, our youths, our resources, our minds today would go a long way in repositioning our future as a nation. It is time to think creatively and constructively towards building a new nation. It is time to say no to corrupt practices and corrupt leaders. It is time to reward uprightness, loyalty, hard work, fairness and justice and most of all the fear of God.  It would take the fear of God to recreate this great nation. A new breed of youths, entrepreneurs and leaders are about to take the center stage in the reconstruction process of this great nation. Nigeria can and would be great if we all think creatively.  Nigerians must therefore join hands together in building a solid, viable, verile and sustainable economy. CREATIVELY NIGERIAN is therefore an initiative that seeks to complement the efforts of the organized private sector, informal sector and indeed the Government in identifying, recognizing, promoting and celebrating national values and pride viz – a – viz Nigerian companies, made in Nigeria goods and services, individuals and institutions as well as governments that have largely contributed towards the socio – economic and political growth and development of the most populous black nation in the world. This is also designed to re – awaken the consciousness of Nigerians in the diaspora to patriotism and nationalism, as well as renew their sense of pride. It is indeed a careful, calculated, conscious and articulate campaign for attitudinal and behavioral change towards reconstructing Nigeria. CREATIVELY NIGERIAN LOGOThe Creatively Nigerian Logo has been designed to recognize and identify with great Nigerian minds in the country and in the Diaspora.
